The following positions are vacant and/or available for nomination for 2008:
National Co-convenor (currently held by Diane Webster)
This position is currently based in Victoria. However, if the motion to move to
a virtual national executive is passed then it may be held by anyone in
Australia. It involves oversight of the National executive and responsibility
for the ongoing operations of WISENet.
National Convenor Elect (currently vacant)
The National convenor elect will take up the national convenor’s position at the
2009 AGM. It is intended to aid succession of the committee from one linkgroup
to the next, or from one convenor to the next. It represents a way to pass on
the collective memory of the committee. Note: if a new National convenor is
elected this position may not be filled or vice/versa.
Treasurer (currently held by Helen Maclean)
This position involves managing the finances of WISENet. The main duties are
approving accounts for payment, assessing the financial implications of actions
proposed by the committee and arranging for an annual
audit.
Journal Coordinator (currently vacant)
The journal co-ordinator is responsible for ensuring that three issues of the
WISENet Journal are produced each year. Responsibility for content and editing
the journal is rotated around link-groups and volunteers. The journal
coordinators role is to guide the link group through the process of assembling
and producing each issue.
Link-group Convenors
The primary role of link-group convenors is to provide a focal point for
networking activities in a local area. This is generally achieved by organising
local meetings, which take a variety of social and professional formats. Link
group convenors are sought for the following groups:
South Australia/Northern Territory
Western Australia
