The Present
New Dean of Science for Curtin
In
April 2003 Professor Jo Ward was appointed to the new position of Dean of
Science in the Division of Engineering, Science and Computing at Curtin
University of Technology. The position oversees strategic directions for
research and teaching in the Faculty of Science.
Jo’s previous position was as Associate Professor in Mathematics and Head of
the School of Mathematics and Physical Sciences at Murdoch University. She has
a PhD in Pure Mathematics from the Australian National University. Her current
research interests are in the application of wavelet and Fourier Analysis to
signal processing.
She noted that “Industry and government partnerships will continue to be a
major focus for the way we undertake research,…”.
