Academy of Science - Dorothy Hill Award

The Academy of Science has agreed to setting up a Dorothy Hill Award. Dorothy Hill was the first and only woman President of the Academy. The Award will be for a sum of money to be given to a female who has made a major contribution to research in fields related to Dorothy Hill's researches. The Award recipient will not be over the ages of 40 years, except in cases of significant interruptions to her research career. The fields are all aspects of Earth Sciences, Taxonomy, the Development of Australian Continent, Barrier Reef and Biological, Chemical or Physical sciences related to these topics will also be considered for the Award.

The Academy is now raising $100,000 to support this award. Naturally it is in contact with all persons or groups who might respond. Any contribution would be most welcome. All contributions are tax deductible.
