The Financial Report, presented by Treasurer Sarah Miller, was accepted.
Reports were received on Wisenet Activities from Diana Temple, on the Wisenet Journal from Editor Julie Evans and on the Wisenet's Web Site from Website Editor Jean Weber.
Under
General Business, discussion was held on office bearers and future activities.
As there was an lack of nominations for office bearers, it was resolved to
hold a special meeting within weeks to discuss vacancies for National Convenor,
Deputy Editor, Deputy Membership Secretary, Deputy Treasurer and Sydney Convenor.
The meeting finally heard a stimulating talk by Dr Nancy Lane of Cambridge, who has been active in promoting women's position in science and technology in the UK. Her topic was "Recent Developments in Science Opportunities for Women in the UK and Europe". Dr Lane was taken out to dinner by a group of members.
