XIXth Pacific Science Congress, 4-9th July 1999, Sydney. This will feature a half-day session about women, organised by Wisenet, called "Science as a Career Choice for the next Decade". The theme of the Conference is: "Science for Pacific Posterity: Environments, Resources and Welfare of the Pacific Peoples."

...is to host in National Science Week, May 3 - 8, a public exhibition: "Science and Medical Research - the Key to Unlocking our Future".
Wisenet has been invited to participate with a booth displaying posters, and we have suggested a number of women for the Science Week speakers program.
...by the Commonwealth Public Service Union (CPSU) at CSIRO. Discussions are being held about Wisenet assisting with this conference, proposed by the Equity Office of CSIRO CPSU in Melbourne. Wisenet representatives Dr Sue Lewis and Dr Kate Hawkins are participating in discussions with Larissa Andelman of CPSU. The conference will probably be in Melbourne, probably late 1999 or 2000.
