The Pink Lab Coat: Inventing Women

Coming to a screen near (as close as it could get) you!

Here is a task for you, Can you name some inventions by women? If you don’t know any, then you would have to wait for the above television documentary to find the answers. This television program celebrates women inventors throughout the centuries from around the world. It is being developed by Red Pepper Productions in Canada. The objective for this production is to bring attention to a topic that has long been overlooked and induce public awareness of the achievements of women in the areas of science and technology. Most people can name male inventors, but naming female inventors or the inventions of women is an illusive task.

This program will have a lively and engaging format with a high profile host and focus on three women inventors-a historical figure, a contemporary Canadian inventor and an international inventor.

In addition to this special there will be a 13 part series that continue to feature an in-depth examination of women inventors and their inventions. Also, videos for use in public schools and print material as teacher guides will be produced.

Pink Lab Coat has been endorsed by WISENET and it is expected to be released early next year. Contact WISENET for further information.
