A Request from the National Convenor
Thank you to everyone who participated in last nights AGM. We had a quorum for
routine matters (reports etc) but not to pass the constitutional change.
Therefore, the AGM was not formally closed, but moved to a virtual 'forum' to
allow members who were not present at the meeting to vote on the constitutional
change.
Details of the constitutional change have been circulated a number of times.
They are attached here again for your information. The change is required to
bring our constitution in-line with the Associations Incorporation Act and
involves 2 changes. Firstly, extending the period of notice for a constitutional
change from 15 to 21 days and secondly, allows for a 2/3 majority rather than a
consensus vote to change the constitution.
At the AGM (28/3) Robyn Porter moved that the wording of clause 17 of the
Wisenet constitution be amended to read:
"This Constitution may be amended by a resolution by consensus (comprising at
least three quarters of members present) among members present at any Annual
General Meeting. Twenty-one (21) days notice in writing (including email) of
such amendment shall be given to all members of the Association."
The motion was seconded by Ines Carrin.
Voting on this motion is currently underway.
Please send your votes to me by close of business on Thurs
19th April (electronic, post or phone).
Thank you,
Diane Webster
