I've had some discussions with older members of the organisation about the need to get more of the younger members involved. Of course you're all busy, but there are many useful (even vital) jobs that can be done from your home or workplace and take only an hour (at most) a month.
For example, we need more advertising in the Journal. Not just to raise advertising revenue (though that would be helpful, given the probable lack of grant money under the current Government), but to inform other women of institutions offering educational or employment opportunities to women in science and technology. A couple of telephone calls each month could make a great deal of difference.
Several people clip articles and send them to us. We could use more. You might get a publication that we don't. We could also use people to telephone for permission to reprint those articles and ask for photos or other illustrations. The answer is almost always 'yes', but someone has to make the call. Why not you?
