WISENET has a new honorary membership secretary. Kirsten Heiland has taken over maintaining the membership database.
Some years ago, Julie Evans was an active member of our Central Link Team and looked after membership; when Julie moved to Hong Kong, Sarah Miller added this job to her responsibilities as WISENET Treasurer.
Kirsten came to Australia from her native Germany in 1991 to complete a Post-Doc in Chemistry at the University of Queensland. She joined WISENET soon after, when she was a Research Fellow at Griffith University. She then spent a year at the Sugar Research Institute in Mackay, Queensland, before moving this year to Sydney to a research and development post with a pharmaceutical firm.
We welcome Kirsten to the small hard-working group of Sydney members who keep WISENET functioning.
