Annarisms

Scientific writing is so often required to be succinct, cryptic, even esoteric - and a little bit boring? But when these hard-learned skills are applied to things philosophical (quite qualified - a Doctor of Philosophy after all!) they can lead to great-fun-word-play.

For me, the activity has led to what my (…still… just!) friends term 'annarisms' - a pun on aneurisms, I know!! We had some fun with these at the last WISENET lunch and I promised to put some onto the ANTIMATTER page - for sharing. Acknowledgement appreciated.

  1. This is the land of the boomerang; think before you throw.

  2. Only the little belittle.

  3. To the benefit of all for then all truly benefit.

  4. Personal experience is the greatest enlightener - shame too often it the only one.

  5. Evolution works! Try it!

  6. The difference between advice and interference is the first is asked for, the second is not.

  7. A mountain of molehills is still a mountain.
